An Tuar Ceatha logo

Michael McFarland Campbell is a gay Irish poet living in Monasterevin, County Kildare, with husband Andrew and their cats. Their poems explore love, desire, faith, body confidence, and the small moments that make a shared life. An Tuar Ceatha brings this writing together in a home of its own.

Pronouns: they/them

Leather meets birthday drinks as Dublin’s queer tribes gather under the bright lights of Pennylane.

The bar’s so busy tonight
With lights so gay and bright
The gang gathers as one
Where has the day all gone?

Beers, spirits, coke and ice
Make th’atmosphere so nice.
A crowd mixed up and gay
Where have they spent the day?

The leather guys, some twinks
Birthday parties for drinks
The company is one
All together– for fun.
